Scott Thomson

Scott is the owner and director at Evolve with over 20 years experience in Physiotherapy and Performance Training. Scott is a leading expert in the management and treatment of chronic injury through the use of the advanced manual and movement therapy techniques including applying the cutting edge LJ Lee Connect Therapy approach.

Scott specialises in Dance Medicine, Clinical Pilates, Running Assessment and Athletic Performance and injury resilience training having extensive experience with touring Ballet Companies and Professional Sports coverage with teams including the Waratahs Rugby Club and the Sydney Olympic Soccer Club.  Locally he overlooks Physio services for a number of organisations including the Bangalow Rebels Rugby Club, Cape Byron Performing Arts and the Byron Ballet.

As an athlete, Scott was an Australian National Champion across multiply sports including Cross Country Running, Amateur Boxing and Break Dancing. He still tries to do a little of them all but these days prefers surfing and spending time with his family.

Justin Cordy

Justin has worked in the elite sport setting for 20 years and is a leading expert in high performance training and Sports Injury management. During this period, Justin developed a wide range of skills and experience in all facets associated with maunal therapy, individual wellbeing planning, and overall health management. This includes a background in sports science and physiotherapy along with significant skills in acupuncture, Pilates and exercise prescription.

Previously Justin has been the High Performance Manager and Physiotherapist for organisations including Cricket Australia and AFL clubs Carlton, Essendon, The Western Bulldogs and The Gold Coast Suns.

After moving to the Northern New South Wales coastline, Justin’s decision to step away from Professional Sports at this time has brought us the unique opportunity to have access to one of Australia’s top Sports Physios here in Byron Bay.

When he is not helping out with injuries, Justin is keeping fit and kept on his toes by his kids.

Ayla Fletcher

Ayla is an experienced Physio and Pilates Instructor that moved to the Northern Rivers region from Perth. She applies a holistic approach to treatment incorporating exercise rehabilitation, massage, manual therapy techniques, dry needling, Clinical Pilates and education to alleviate pain, restore function and enhance quality of life.

Since completing her Physiotherapy Degree in Western Australia in 2014, Ayla has worked as a sports and musculoskeletal physiotherapist and Clinical Pilates instructor treating a range of issues from sporting injuries to chronic pain syndromes. She has worked with professional and semi-professional sporting teams including the Western Force Rugby Club, Freestyle Canada (Canadian Moguls Ski Team) and the Perth Soccer Club.

She has completed her Levels 1 and 2 Sports PhysiotherapyCertificates through the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) in 2016 - 2017.

Ayla uses a variety of assessment techniques to determine not only a diagnosis, but the many contributing factors that can contribute to pain and pathology. She believes in the importance of client education and teaches each client how to rehabilitate their body as well as how to prevent future injuries.

In her time outside of the clinic, you can find Ayla hiking, rock climbing, at the gym or most recently- learning to surf.

Brendan Cole

Brendan is an Olympian and Commonwealth games Gold Medalist for Australia in Track and Field. He joins Evolve bringing his 20 years plus experience as a remedial/sports massage therapist and Pilates Instructor.  He uses a range of soft tissue techniques, including deep tissue, trigger point, myofascial dry needling (MDN), myofascial release, active release and electro-stim needling. 

With a particular focus on exercise, movement, and sport, Brendan has supported Athletics Australia, Netball Australia, USA Bobsled/Skeleton, the Australian Institute of Sport, and Gymnastics Australia.

Still training (but with much less speed!) Brendan occasionally competes and can be seen regularly at the local athletics track. When not bouncing around, Brendan loves to read, write, cook, and occasionally DJs on weekends. 

Laura Kavanagh

Laura has an Advanced Diploma in Soft Tissue Therapy along with a Diploma in
Polestar Pilates Studio and Rehabilitation. She is also a certified JEMS®Rehabilitation Practitioner.

She specialises in injury management and prevention using a combination of hands on therapy and movement repatterining. Her unique offering combines over 20 years of experience as a massage therapist and specialist training in movement assessment.

She offers a range of services geared toward wellbeing, relaxation and maintenance
of healthy soft tissues, including Remedial Massage, Sports Massage, Swedish Massage, Myofascial Release and Reflexology for Relaxation.

Oustide of Work, Laura loves her Dance, Qi Gong, swimming in the ocean, running and exploring our beautiful region.

Frances King

Fran is a Diploma trained Professional Pilates Instructor, receiving her Certification from at the Pilates International Training Centre (PITC) in Sydney that included specialised study for conditions including Pregnancy, pre and post-natal, Seniors, Injury rehabilitation and Elite-level conditioning.

Fran teaches with Passionate, engaging and motivating instruction, along with an accurately cued and professional Pilates repertoire.

A competitive Show Jumper in the UK, Fran used the Pilates method to heal from a horse fall injury which in turn sparked her motivation to become an Instructor helping others.
